    It wouldn't surprise me if Tyson Foods trims down or outright eliminates their fleet of trucks in the near future.

    I second this statement even in Southern .CA private fleets are the cream of the crop and want nothing but experienced hands.

    Central California. Local company. We are a construction outfit that supplies material to ours and other ready mix yards. We park our trucks at our quarry. Since it's California, its year round work for us and it doesn't really slow down. Obviously, summers are busier and I do a lot of paving, chip sealing, and haul a lot of slurry to stockpiles all over the state. If we can do a run in 16 hours, we do it.

    That 85-110k looks good till you look at the cost of living. My house would be worth three times what it is if I moved it out there. I'll stay right here in the south, deal with much less headaches and traffic, no protests every other block, and the best cooking around.
