Just got off the phone earlier today with someone that need a local feed hauler that pay % just looking for info about the trade and what to expect
Maybe @Feedman can help you out. If you have some specific questions for him, go ahead and post them and we'll try to get him in here.
What type of feed would you be hauling? I currently haul feed for chickens, hogs, and turkeys. If you have any questions feel free to ask and I’ll answer the best I can.
I'm not 100% sure I was nervous talking to the lady at the office but I think she said hogs and probably cattle
I haven’t done cattle/dairy but hogs aren’t bad. In a nutshell you load a trailer, drive to the farm and unload the feed in the proper bin then return. Hardest part for me is Amish farms where it’s sometimes very tight getting a semi in there. I’ll go into more detail when I get a chance to get on my computer. If you have any other questions in the mean time feel free to ask away or email/PM me if you want.
I used to haul ground alfalfa and other feed commodities to dairies and feedlots. I pulled a 53 foot live bottom and mostly it was a piece of cake, except for some of the little bitty dairies, getting that trailer in their barn was sometimes a chore.
Just finished my first day easy work took along time to unload all 9 pods tonight I'm going to go haul some hogs with the owner
