They're afraid of two things. Detention charges, and your not waiting for them to get off their butts and unload their crap.

Well I finished my day with my micro carrier. Drove a total of maybe 23 miles. 8 hour day. Made $20 less than I would have doing local with Schneider for a 10 hour day and 200 miles.

Oh and another point someone reminded me of on another thread. I'm on the local exemption log rule. I don't even keep log book, or electronic. I guess I do, I right my daily hours on recap, it's the way CEMEX was, but Schneider said we weren't allowed to do that for there local operations. Cause if we did that, they wouldn't be able to stick it in your ###.

I guess what I mean is hourly drivers usually cost those shippers more money if they are detained. And most of those carriers will just move on if the shipment isn't ready. Thus VIP status at most shippers and consignees. Congrats on the new gig, I hope it suits you well!

    Come on, @Dave_in_AZ. 23 miles??? That's it?

I moved more bills than that today, and my miles have a "3" in front of that.

Get the lead out, driver. :p:D

If they're on the hood, aren't those called "rookie mirrors"?
