What is the best engine, tranny, and rear end combination for flatbed running 48 states? I will be hauling just about everything from coils to lumber. What make engine do you guys and gals prefer? Thanks.
big bore cat (3406e or c-15...even better a c-16...)13 or even an 18spd and 3.55 or 3.36 rears i run a 3406e, 13spd with 3.55 rears and do just fine
I run a 3406E 550hp Cat, 18 spd., 3.36 rears in a Western Star 4964EX getting 6.7mpg pulling a 102 by 48 Flat
normally 6.5 to 7......as high as 7.5 or as low as 5.5 at times...depends whats on the deck, what it wieghs and where im driving thru
