Suckers are the ones that buy freightliners and volvos.379 Petes are sold at higher prices cause they're quality trucks and what you may lose in fuel mileage you make up for in less downtime and resale value.

I was giving freightwhipper a hard time, but failed. The topic is about make and not model.

You say that Pacaar and Renault are not related. The pacaar engine used here is a take off of the Renault engine in Europe. Read about it. Pacaar is trying to take over all trucking and Renault is also owned by a sister company now. #### Engines. I have several good friends here in Alaska who are mechanics on the slope and guess what the last engines they prefer Pacaar. These arent hillbilly redneck mechanics. These are the best in the world.

Classic trucks like the 379 are like Harley's in that the style is all people are concerned with. They don't care that higher performance exists in a different package, they just want that classic style. Honestly with trucks it really doesn't matter, they all share the same engine, transmission, differentials, and many other components. I'll take the spacious interior of a Volvo or T-680 anyday over some tiny cramped "hood" anyday, lol

Seems people over look those plants in NC? I have listened to all the Ford nuts over the years, " Ford is the best selling pickup, because it is built Ford tough". But the best selling truck is just cheap crap?

    Exactly.
I dont ever want to pay mechanical bills, fuel, or tires.
I dont plan on driving a 400 k truck either.
I just drive my new cascadia, and laugh at all the hoods, with their 4 feet shifter stalks and tiny windows.

Kindly point me to any publication that would say Volvo ( who owns Renault) and PACAAR are in any way related. And while you're at it let me know which Renault engine is PACAAR engine based on.
