Thanks for the scoop. Think I'll go to orientation on the 1st and join you guys. Maybe I'll get lucky enough to get a 19 0r 20 truck. I heard they have different colors yellow would be sweet. Every company has some downfalls but with 68 and new equipment and long runs that's enough to keep me happy. I'm pretty good about giving a dm my ETA and making it within 2 hours at the latest. I've heard some really good things about that company. Sounds like it might just be the place to put the fun back into trucking life.

I think someone from the FM office keeps tabs on this board. The day after I posted regarding the detention pay issues, they sent out a company wide message stating they’re aware of a problem with it and working towards fixing it, but in the meantime partner with DM’s if we are owed it as payroll has to go through and verify each individual load until the system is fixed. Have to give them credit on that one.

I think last month was slow all around, but the month before I did hit bonus and it was roughly an extra $350 on that weeks check.

I am looking to begin CDL classes in the next week. Does Freymiller take new grads? I live in SC just north of Savannah. I would like to run 2 weeks out with 2 - 4 days home. Any Freymiller's out there that can give me some insight?

kca, they do hire recent grads. You would go out with a trainer for an average of 3-4 weeks, maybe shorter, maybe longer depending on how good you pay attention, learn from your or your trainers mistakes and how well you manage getting around the country without tearing anything up. As far as time out, it is one day off for every week out. With a maximum of four days off. They will work with you on emergency situations and doctors visits as long as it doesn't become a problem. Repetition use of needing to be home more than 4 days. Hope this helps you in trying to find the right fit of company for what you're looking for.

That time off policy is outdated, most companies offer more home time than that nowadays, geez

I'm just finished getting unwound after 4 days. I need another 3-4 to get things done. I don't like that Great Plains uses the 1 day off for 7 out, but at least I get up to 12 days off. You more than make up for it running that many weeks. 4 days would be a deal breaker for me, if I were looking.

Well just spoke with human at Freymiller. Seems they don't hire east of I-95, at least in SC.
