Looking to start hauling next April and looking for info and all the starting up requirements, permits, insurance, etc; want be starting my own authority then but will be leasing for my MC#, looking for suggestions?
Have a large bank account, first. If you will be leasing for MC do you mean others leased to you, or you leasing to someone else? Getting your own authority is not necessary if you will be leasing to another carrier. Learn all you can, suggest taking a course from NASTC or OOIDA . For fuel purchases, subscribe to MUDFLAP. NASTC is in Nashville TN, OOIDA is just east of Kansas City MO. Using a flatbed, learn the rules for securing cargo.
