one of the towing companys i used to work had the most expesive gps system in it knew everything it was hookup to passger door and seat as well as drivers side knew when ya were sitting idle or speeding over 55mph ,my boss used to hate when he sent me on a long distance tow aka the speeed alarm so he finally disabled the speed alarm in my truck

This is the first that I have also heard about this. My DM worked in Safety and never said anything about this.

I talked to my DM about this earlier. He knows I'm very unhappy about the idea of wasting money on such needless nonsense. He said he'd look into it, but that I wouldn't have to fool with it because I have a good safety record and I'm L/O....and pay for excessive QC use. Scottie and other L/Os, check with your DMs about this and raise the concern over cost. You are trying to run a business and making you do something that costs you money without reimbursement is wrong. Even if it's only 10 cents per message.

Company folks: Want to put a stop to this ridiculousness? Put in a GOAL message every single time you put that tranny in reverse, even if you pulled it out of gear to rest your clutch leg for a minute...every pull-up, even if you accidentally drop it into reverse while you're sitting still. They want GOAL msgs? Let 'em have 'em by the bucketload. Two things will happen: the DM's inbox will be so flooded that it will have to be constantly emptied to clear space for real work. Productivity will decrease. And...Swift will have to pay for all those excessive messages. It won't take long for this nonsense to be abandoned...after a head or two roll. So, indulge them. Make it worthwhile...have fun with it. Four or five GOAL messages per back per driver and how many backs each day? After all...we have to make absolutely sure we're squared up in our parking spot....right?

I wish I could send this in everytime I back up:

I don't mind doing it, I just don't like the sentiment behind it. All probably thought up by people that haven't spent a second in a truck.

I like your spunk. However, be careful, you never know when you'll be labeled a troublemaker. I'm not trying to be funny either. Just be careful.

All I'm suggesting is give them what they want. If what they want is a GOAL message every time a driver backs, give it to them. How's that being a troublemaker? ;-)
