I have a Cobra truck unit. When I go to enter an address all is well if it accepts it as a valid one. The problem is when it tells me there is no street or number, when I know it is wrong. I cant use it at all at that point. Then I go to mapquest on my laptop and hope for the best. This happens much more than it should. Does this happen with the other brands too? I am thinking of the fred meyer dist. center in Puyallup Wa. 349 Valley Ave NW. It wont recognize this address as valid. Any good ideas?

I just looked it up on google map and the address is off by few hundred feet. Also its wrong on maps too, i just tried putting different number and it still shows the same as 349... Puts me on intersection of Valley ave and N Meridian so its not your GPS... Hope this helps

When asked for city, try search all, then address.Lot of times will be town just on outskirts.

I have a cobra truck gps and a garmin car gps, both in my truck. If I don't like what one is doing , I just try the other. The car gps is better for trying alternate routes. The cobra I am liking more as my middle aged eye sight gets a little worse. The cobra has a bigger screen with more info on the main screen. Get a second gps. Then you can always get a second opinion. Works well for me.

I have the same problem with my Rand McNally, I just look up the place on Google maps on my phone, it is usually that the road has numerous names and the GPS uses a different one than what I have. If all else fails I just use a close intersection and eyeball it from there.

LOL . Fred Meyer has been pulling up that way on gps's along time. I have a gen 1 cobra unit that couldn't find it back in 2004.

I have a garmin 465LMT and I like it but it's not perfect. One problen I had was the address I was given was wrong. Sometimes the street name was wrong or it wasnt a st, it was a rd or maybe ave. That little sufix can make all the difference. 349 could be the physical address but not the mailing address so it wont show up on the gps. Again I like my garmin but it's a love/hate relationship.

I just punch into my garmin and I get 2 addresses. 1 is Valley Ave NE 98372 and the other is Valley Ave NW 98371. So I'd need the Zip to know which one is correct. I always checked the paper work because chances are it would have the correct address but sometimes not. So then I will call the place I'm going and ask them.

You should try "w valley hwy." I grew up a bit north from there, and I think that hwy runs all the way into Puyallup. I could be wrong but it's worth a shot

i pulled up google maps on phone and it pulled up the intersection with a DC close to it. lots of trucks parked in the docks.

i tried copilot also on the phone and it pulled up 1/4 mile down the street. but neither had no problem finding 349 VALLEY AVE. NW.

as a last resort you can try on google maps in simply searching for the business name in the town your looking for.

if that don't work for me. i'm usually SOL. and have to use the old fashioned method of making a phone call and crossing fingers in hopes the other end speaks the native language.

sometimes though. you can't find the street as it's worded. so i enter the zip code first. and go from there.

sooner or later i'm going to get into the habit of using the zip code instead of the town name. gauranteed better chance of finding your destination.
