    i've never had a problem.

    never screwed around with parameters either.

    i don't do shortcuts much though. too time consuming. but then, you can't really compare east coast to west coast. not as many roads to take on the west.

    I think it's a glitch. I played around with it some more and found the same problem with other directions (directing to go south when it should be north) but you're exactly right, no comparison east coast to west.

    I use Streets & Trips with the Truck Stops Plus add-on. I was trained how to use it by my trainer. What we do is use it like a Motor Carrier Road Atlas, but instead of writing down the truck routes as you are taught to do with a Motor Carrier Road Atlas, we sync up the truck routes that are provided by our company in Streets & Trips instead and then use Streets & Trips for navigation. It's very easy and fast to do and it doesn't cost $400.

    In addition, calling GPS units truck specific is just a marketing gimmick used to justify charging more money. There is nothing out there that is really truck specific. Hell, read the reviews and talk to people that have used them. I have. They occasionally screw you over.

    Moreover, if I have a problem, I'd rather it be on a route supplied by my company than one supplied by a GPS device. At least I can blame my company, but no one will accept a GPS device as an excuse. Not to mention that all my company supplied truck routes are already tried and true.

    We also have access to the Navigo system if we won't to. It's also supposedly truck specific. However, after using it out of curiosity a few times it didn't take me long to go back to my aforementioned tried and true method. Hell, I don't even turn the Navigo system on anymore.

    i use my copilot and pcmiler ALL the time. program my address and just drive.

    never been strayed on a street i shouldn't be.

    which is more then i can say for some other truck gps's.
