What is the process for getting the hazmat endorsement? I know that TSA is involved and there is finger printing and the hazmat test at DMV but in what order are these things done to make the process as smooth as possible? Thanks...

First of all you have to go to Hazprints.com go to the bottom of the page. There you will register online for fingerprinting and pay your 94.00 non refundable. Then you will also look at the sites on that same page that you can go to have your fingerprinting done. Then you wait about two weeks for your letter from TSA saying that you are ok. You then take that letter to the DMV take your hazmat test then you are set to go...

I have the Florida CDL book and it has 20 questions for the haz mat part. I would have thought there would be a lot more questions than that for as much material that there is in the chapter.

Two weeks? Wow, they were flying, mine took five (5) weeks between fingerprinting and receiving the letter. But, the process is just like goforce described.

The MI test has 30 questions (if memory serves), you must get at least 24 correct, and was verbatim from the review questions at the end of each chapter, so I studied those and a few other important points and got my HM endorsement.
