Any drivers facing issues with TSA Background check taking over 60 days?

I called yesterday and they said they’d make a note and escalate it, what are the chances it’s done pretty soon?

 

Yep, did my renewal August 25 and yet to get it back. Called up and they said there were no issues with my background check etc but that they were running way behind.

Notified employer I can no longer do hazmat loads until endorsement comes through. Not really an issue as we don't do very many of those but for fuel and chemical haulers etc, probably best to do renewal 90 days in advance.

 

Never received a penny more for Haz...just do not see the point....hauled it for years before endorsement and years after
Then they started fingerprints background etc
The govt has all that of mine and more for years...secret service cleared since’78
Still wanted $300 plus in ‘05 with new rules
Dropped it and more than happy I did
It’s a total scam

 

I work for Freight myself and 2 weeks ago we got a message on our handhelds. That hazmat background checks are taking up to 4 months. Might not of sent one at your center but management should know its a ongoing problem.

 

25 days and nothing yet here. I know what to expect now. Thanks for the insight.

 

I received mine in 2 weeks. And when it’s renewal time, same thing, about 2 weeks. But I never use it. I take it for the challenge.(HAZMAT TEST)

 

When I got my hazmat back in June it took 3 days before it had confirmation. Meanwhile a friend in Colorado has been waiting since then to hear back on his.

 

When I went through it last December, it took a full 3 months for the TSA background check to come back.

 

Isn't that the purpose of government?
