A DUI isn't neccessarily the kiss of death-for your hazmat at least- but pro's right getting a job could be hard. If you're not looking to yank a tank, a HM endorsement is more trouble than it's worth. Now I heard (from another driver's experience w/ TSA) that they will want the background check and fingerprinting (and $94-???) everytime you want to renew.
Some companies require you hold a hazmat, even for dry van, like crst, and Schneider, just a couple I know of.
i got a dui back in november of 1998. my first and only and last. young dumb and stupid and regret it to this day.
my hubby got one back in that time or a year or so befor and he had no problems with geting a job or his hazmat endorsment . he just finsh class about 2 week ago last week he came home and took the hazmat test . and now he is out with his trainer so i think you should be fine
thank for all the info everyone. it is greatly appreciated and i hope to see you guys on the road soon. be safe.
HEY MODS! I found some online practice hazmat tests the really helped me out and i was hoping to put the link up here to help out other people, but the tests are on a trucking schools webpage, and I didnt't know if it was against the rules for me to link to it. I would have PMed one of you to ask this but I can't yet. (not enough posts) Someone please let me know if i can.
