Today is proof that this whole HAZMAT/TSA thing is nothing but a money making venture for the states. Security is at the bottom of the list for concern, if at all.

So I transfer my FL CDL with all endorsements, valid hazmat but I was told I still have to get pretty much the same check run by NYS and pay their fee. I was told that even if I just got the background check done yesterday in Florida, I still have to pay a new fee to get it done again. How ludicrous is that?

Well in the interim, I was supposed to get a 90 day extension while the new one goes through. Yup they screwed that up, and then now they probably wont be able to give it to me. Absolute bovine excrement. And I am furious as now I wont be able to start with Conway till it comes through which could be another 2-3 weeks.

End of rant. lets hear your thoughts.

Can,t help you none. This falls in the same catagory of all the hoops I have to jump thru because of all of the politacally appointed Tennessee Highway Patrol and DMV workers who where selling drivers license,s to 9/11 terrorists and illeagle aliens.

It is not about security, it is all about making it look like they did their job to keep the public secure.

Does anyone think that some terrorist is going to say to him/herself, "Crap, I could not get a hazmat endorsement! I guess I have no way to blow up that city."

No, they will just jack whoever has what they need and move on from there.

Anytime you deal with the goverment, federal, state or local, always keep this quote in mind. There is no reason for it, it's just our policy. Hopefully this gives a little perceptive.
