Once you have CDL as new driver without any experience. Everyone know they just passing the test is not enough. It's really about the insurance company. That need some proof a new driver had some real driving experience with a trainer.

Their not much privacy when training and two guys are sleeping in truck or riding in truck 24/7. You can take a shower every day at truck stop. You have like 7-10 days of clothes. Then you stop and wash clothes.

I worked for coca cola out of Sylmar .ca and they would teach you how to drive and pretrip at that warehouse.
Once he felt that you were safe enough you got hired as a driver.
Have to work n the warehouse first b4 he would train you.
    Think ups does this too

Depending on your aptitude and where you went to school, plus your road test(s) during orientation you’d be looking at anywhere between 150-240 hours with a trainer. Some people may get less. It just depends.

No insurance has ever, ever ask me if a driver I was hiring had ever been to school and or spent any time with a trainer, period. My insurance always wanted 2 years of experience, and a clean record. They do not care about school.

A&R Logistics and PGT both run you local with a trainer until he clears you to drive alone. Both put you up in a hotel if you live too far from a terminal.

Find a local position. Not as hard to come by as many think.
