Can anyone tell me of trucking companies that might hire me with a 2yr old 1st offence Dui. Or any heavy equipment companies that hire entry level Nccer certified operators? You can email me at paul22689@yahoo.com thank you God bless..
Are there DUI lawyers instructing all their clientele to become truck drivers? Why are there so many drunks wanting to become truck drivers? See these type of threads almost every day, don't get it.
Check Craigslist for the smaller companies that may not be concerned with insurance companies as much. Carolina Cargo might hire you; they run teams doing West Coast turnarounds. This company cuts lots of slack on hiring requirements.
I would try what China said... Craigslist should get you something... If not you might have to wait one more year... Most companies are between 3-5 years after a DUI....
I think you'll find with most companies that if they like you, they are willing to take on the insurance company and fight for an exception. If you make a great impression on them during an interview/first meeting, they may be more inclined to make something happen for you. For that reason, avoid companies who only online screen or do telephon interviews. Hit the pavement the old fashioned way, with a shirt (with buttons), a printed resume, an abstract, a handshake and a big smile to get your foot in the door. Maybe it's just me, but i seriously hate the sob stories that tend to accompany DUIs. Just accept that it was a stupid thing that you did and you are ready to turn the corner on your former, idiotic self.
Thanks Straight Stacks, now I'm going to have to listen to that. Years ago, that song was part of the chauffeurs license test, you know. That, and a couple verses of "Convoy", and I was a truckin'!
Hey when your right your right!! I messed up! But I will land on my feet!! Even if it takes a bit..thanks see ya.
