What infornmation do I need to prvide during the hiring process?
I've heard that you have to provide employment history for the past 10 years and refferences during unemployment. Is this the case in Ontario? Adresses for the past 10 years also?
I have a clean driving record and no criminal record but I had an at fault accident 11 years ago, will that be a problem?

    mje Thanks this.

I don't know if Canada is different, but in the US, the accident wouldn't be on your record anymore. Also you are correct about the 10 year history and extended unemployment periods.

    mje and Diedrich Thank this.

Generally speaking, if it was a short period, ie a month or two, "I was looking for a job" will suffice. If you were unemployed for a year, they want a reference letter from someone stating that fact. It's to give some validity that you were indeed unemployed, and not in prison, or in a mental institution, etc.
