The hostler at my job won't start and is hooked to a trailer. How can I manually release the fifth wheel jaws so it can be dragged out from under this trailer?

Is there a handle on the fifth wheel? Does the truck have power? You could try holding the release while someone pulls you out from under it.

Air it up with another truck (red glad hand to red glad hand), hold the release button while getting yanked out.

I believe most yard trucks use air pressure to release the 5th wheel. You will need both to push the yard truck into the trailer and supply air to operate in the 5th wheel.
