If you’re running 2500 to 3000 miles a week in the eastern half of the US what’s a ballpark of what your fuel tax would be quarterly ?

Depends where you buy fuel. If you buy your fuel from those theives in PA you should get a refund but you still owe NYHUT which is around $.05/mile last I looked.

Here is the current fuel tax rates. Take a look at PA
    IFTA Matrix

$,74 of every gallon burned in PA is owed to them. $.74 div by say......6 mpg = $.12 per PA mile

NY is about $.39/6 = $.065/mile but ya gotta add $.05 for NYHUT = $.12/mile for every mile not on the NYSTA

Simple answer is $250-300. Your numbers are about like mine. That's what I pay.

It is simple. Find out which state has the lowest rack price, that is after you have deducted how much the IFTA tax is. Buy your fuel in that state. The amount you save in the "fixed cost" of fuel will pay for any balance you will have to pay in IFTA. Landline Now has a segment on the fuel price by state, both the pump price and the actual cost of fuel. Surprisingly Illinois is in the top 3 for best diesel only cost week after week.
