We lost the ignition key, is there a way to swap the key ‘tumbler’ with an OOS unit we have the keys from? Both are Pete’s.
What special tools would be needed?
    TIA

There is no way to remove the tumbler from the ignition switch without the old key. Switch is cheap, just swap out the switch and tumbler will get you going.

Dealer should be able to key cut by vin if it is indeed factory. Bad thing is often times that old they are not and have been swapped before.

Remove the ignition switch and take it to a locksmith.

Locksmith can fix you up. I do it all the time with old stuff. Most stuff I get has lost keys anyway. Recently had an old Pete keyed the same all the way around. It had a different lock in each door, glove box and no ignition switch. Took them all in to a locksmith and got them set up the same. Got a couple of the expensive oval head Peterbilt key blanks from Rush to make it look official. Lol!
