Does swift have this out of Lancaster?
This would keep a driver close to home in DFW, right??

Can anyone provided a job description?

    What's a typical day?

    The good, the bad?

They are needing folks in Saginaw, TX
This is 20 mins from my house.

Want to understand something about the job before signing up.

MM3Deg, with that kind of pay and you wanting to stay close to home the pay might not be that good.

$40 per container and the standard rates for long haul.
Those places are slow in and out, so you wouldn't be doing more than 2 per day - at a guess.
If they are local runs (100 miles there and back?) it wouldn't pay much at all for miles.

Granted, I have no experience with this. But it just doesn't sound that good to me.

    Not really local I'm after..
more a close consistent home base.

I've no prob running cross country.
This would be icing on the cake for me, if I was able to have dinner with family and sleep in my own bed every 2-3 days.

Running laps around DFW would be no fun at all.

Trying to figure out if this laps or otr back and forth from Saginaw.

If you talk to the dm that handles that account, can't they tell you what their drivers average?

I'm at the low end (37 cpm) because I've only driven 1 1/2 years. There are good days. My best I think around $287. There are bad days. My worst $90. That was because I sat in a dock all day. Thanks Stanley Tools in Concord, NC. You do not get standard mileage rates, you get Intermodel rate. I'm gonna put it this way, tuesday I made $1170 gross. My net far less but I took max insurance. This weeks far less, I took the 3 day holiday weekend off. If I chose to I could up that, but I like weekends off. And they do try to make sure you get at least 3 containers/day to make at least $120+miles. I have zero complaints. I'm home every night, if I want to work weekends I can. If asked I do.

The $40/container is actually a big part of my income. We have a couple runs where the zip code to zip code pays 3 miles+$40. Another is Charlotte-Shelby (Wal-Mart or Clearwater) 44 miles+$40. Long runs yes you lose but it does even out.

    OceanDan and MM3Deg Thank this.

    Thanks for the info, Kindle.

OTR sounds about the same. Some weeks are really good and some not so much.
Last week I cleared $100, and this week I net nearly $1000.
That is after med insurance and 2 child support payments, totaling ~$350 off the top.
Gross is always much better, which is what many people quote.

We got the word the are bringing in 4 more drivers to Charlotte Intermodel, apparently some accounts are increasing. Also some accounts can only be done by Swift drivers, there are some contractors used and they have pissed off a few receivers. Today was long, only about 160 miles but 7 containers. Not too shabby on the $
