I couldn't agree more. When I shut down for the night...whatever, I'm so dogged tired that I don't have time for anything. I fuel, shower, sleep, wash, and repeat. I know it sucks, but that is the life of an OTR driver.
Drivers are paranoid these days. When's the last time you actually saw a few drivers standing around with a beer around a portable grill at a truckstop? Rest Area? Gravel pull out? It's sad but true. Hey do you want to go to a party? There's no girls or grills or booze, but it's gonna be fun!
I have play the Age of Empires series when I was younger. Also Starcraft and the old school Warcraft. The Xcom series was also very good. If you are in a bad internet area you can always just connect to steam and play some single players. There are some good ones, and some good ones right around the corner. Fallout 4 Dying Light Gears of War (Marcus aint got no more tomatoes) Countless others.. Soon to come: Cyberpunk 2077, now available for pre-order Red Dead Redemption 2 PC edition (its coming, dont doubt it) Dying Light 2 New Elder Scrolls, probably next year or 2021 at latest GTA 6
all work no play.. leads some where read a book booze and bbq's I see it here and there with clicks, all the flat beds parked as tho they circled the wagons.. I don't party.. booze, no.. never wait time is part of the job
I got an ATT plan with unlimited data and a Toshiba laptop for about $100 a month and it's very fast wherever I can get cell reception. I don't game much any more but I can stream anything, watch movies anywhere.
Come to think of it, it was usually all flat bedders, heavy haulers, etc, and mostly OO's that would hang out, with just a sprinkling of van or reefer guys. It didn't take a lot of guys either, anywhere from 3 or 4 to 8 or 10, and booze was not always involved. Shoot we would drop a trailer and several of us climb in one or 2 trucks and go to the races or what ever else there was to do at any given location. I also read a lot of books, especially in bad weather.I know this site is just a sprinkling of the driving population, but from what I see, there seems to be a lot of folks in this business, that really does not want to be, so has no plans to try and enjoy it and life in general.
When those inverters are plugged in to a 12V socket they only output 150W. The only advantage they have over a small 150W is that they are no where near capacity so will last longer, and probably provide more consistent power. I don't think I have seen a ROG with a 970M. That is the very bottom of the line for Nvidia laptop GPU's. Mine has the GTX 1050 Ti, and that is on the bottom end of the decent chips. Those higher end chips take a lot more power and create a lot more heat.
