Yeah, the guy who hooked this thing up was there at the shop on Saturday and did not look too happy to be there! I think he may have left out an important step...like the little ground connection on the back. I will look where it is connected and take it from there. I'm going to have the guys in the shop look at it if all else fails. Thanks for your help, I don't understand why it wouldn't handle the load. I unplugged everything else and just left the microwave plugged in and it shut her right down. I will let you know how things turn out.

I don't think the ground will be your issue. It's more of a safety item, than a power item.

Unless the problem is within the inverter itself. It will be on the supply side. IE...batteries or connections/cables

Okay, here's what I've found out...when they installed my inverter they used 4 gauge cable with an inline circuit breaker connected directly to the batteries. The cables are, by the way, less than 4' in length. They are probably closer to 3', if even that, in length. The next time I'm at a terminal with a shop I'm going o have it looked at but if it looks like a duck and walks like a duck?....yep, bet I got a bad inverter! Oh, man I bought this unit online before I even worked for the company! Do you think a truck stop that has them would swap the unit out for me? :biggrin_25513:

Hopefully you still have your receipt. If so, and it hasn't been too long they may.

Otherwise you will have to send it to Cobra.
