Inverters help

ok just curious I wanting to bring my ps4 and a tv but the company I'm going with only allows plug in inverters so I need help is this doable or no

 

Not sure as technology has changed over the last few years. But maby not with one of those cigarette lighter plug in types. Can get a larger one with clamp ends and run it out the bunk door to the battery box if you really have to have it though.

 

That's what I wondering if that was possible I have heard some guys say that they weren't able to get to the battery boxes on some of the equipment so I was wondering if that was the case what next can one do also I'm assuming all the cig lighters are connected to one fuse if this isn't correct could it be possible to up two plug in inverters

What I do there maybe a easier way to do it what I do is go to the top of page on the right hand side where the blue boxes are click that than click on Schneider or one those topics then I click post a new thread I do wish they would make it easier to find that it took me awhile to figure this out hope that helps if someone know of a better way plz let me know

The most a 12v outlet will survive is typically 10 amps before it starts blowing fuses. Some may go as high as 12 amps. This is enough to charge a laptop, power a small LCD TV.

The problem I see is that most 12v inverters max out at 300 watts and thats usually divided between 2 outlets with 150 watts and up to 3 amps per outlet.

A PS4 uses about 90 amps,.. I know a 20" LCD will work off a 150 watt 3 amp inverter. I have done it. But the TV quit working after a month,.. I started the truck while the TV was on and I think the voltage spiked.

I dont think there would be enough juice for both,.. a TV and PS4 from the 12v outlet. That and the PS4 is more like a PC with sensitive components that would not survive voltage spikes,.. or damage caused by low voltage. I dont know of any 12v outlet inverter that converts to synwave power. The cheapest one that connects to your batteries directly is a cheap $500 unit. The one I have in my truck cost $800,.. plus I have a $2000 generator that has a built in synwave inverter that mimics household voltage current.

Personally I would not trust a 12v outlet to power much more than a laptop and only because the laptop has an external power converter that protects against surge and the laptop itself is always drawing power from the battery anyway,.. never from the outlet even when plugged in. TV, PC, Console are things that I would not trust to a cheap inverter. You are welcome to try it. Most 12v inverters are pretty cheap.

Ok thanks I guess I'll run jumper cables till the company gets them installed I hear they putting some in the newer trucks so till then I'll do it the hard way which sucks but I mainly will only need it for resets other than that I prbly won't have much time to use it or so I'm hoping the wheels sty turning as much as possible hate sitting in one spot
