I have a 400 watt invertor when i have my icon idle system on and the truck starts it shuts down and restarts back up i am worried about it blowing out the invertor or whatever i hooked up to it at the time, is there a way not to have this happen?

try wiring into another circuit than the one you are using or wire it directly to the battery with a fuse in line of course

Mine did the same thing. It has not blown my 400w inverter. I used it for my tv and dvd player. If your using it for your notebook, it will be hard on it.

The inverter shuts down because the "supply" voltage is interrupted when you start the truck. All of the "accessories" shut down during the start cycle.

It kills my 300 but doesn't bother my 800 at all.

My 800 will sometimes shut off, sometimes it wont.

Question though, running my laptop, with my tv plugged in but not ON how long should it take for my batteries go die on the truck? I swear if i have the truck off and just my overhead light on with laptop on for an hour, i start getting a beep that i am about out of juice and I have gotton really good at hooking my reefer up to my truck batteries via jumper cables.

some of the less expensive invertors, will do that. the ones that plug into the sig lighter or acc. outlet. it is a common thing, but the only thing that will happen is cause frustration when you have to restart a movie that you was in the middle of, now if you went with one that was of a higher wattage and was direct connected to the batteries usually won't have that problem.

Do you spend a lot of time gaming? Or running high resource programs?

My old laptop would suck the life out of my batteries, just like yours. But it generally occured when I was running Ice WinDale or another heavy resource game that forced my fans to stay on high all the time.
