About 30 minutes ago I finished a conversation with a friend who lives and is based out of Atlanta. His Primary Care Doc gave him an RX for Jardiance almost 10 months ago. After adjusting to the side effects (makes you pee) he has managed well. Yesterday morning he took his DOT physical and the sugar was present in his urine. It was not much and he told the ME about the Jardiance and after a stick test, he got his card. Jardiance is a VERY good medication overall and I highly recommend at least asking your Physician about taking it. Just be forewarned about how it causes sugar to spill over into the urine. It is also VERY expensive!
Doctor put me on Jardiance about a year ago. Lost my appetite for food. Also, makes you very tender and sore after peeing. A thorough cleaning with a wet-wipe, after each pee, will prevent that. Yeah, it's expensive unless you are a military vet or fortunate enough to have insurance to pay for it.
During those 3 years did you check your urine every day? I have been taking Jardiance for almost 7 years now. From time to time when I have lab work done they also want urine. Not long ago my lab work came back showing nothing in my urine. Depending on a lot of factors you may or may not have sugar showing in your urine while doing lab work. I would also not recommend trusting urine color when it comes to this. The reason I made this comment was a single situation involving a friend who did have sugar show up and how it was handled. Every active trucker who is taking Jardiance or maybe about to in the future needs to fully understand what SGLT2 inhibitors are and how they work. My friend told me that next year when he goes for his physical he will have a notarized statement from his doctor about the Jardiance! I think that is a wonderful idea!
Oh yeah, that Jardiance is really good medication. I take that too. I have heart disease so the doctors prescribed it to me to help me managed this condition. It definitely works. There were still some lifestyle changes required on my end though. I get a 90 day supply with my insurance for like 45 bucks. Thank goodness for insurance because 90 day supplies are like 1500 bucks or so. Definitely recommend it.
Lol not quite as much beer, but I've had to be more reliant on liquor so I can get there faster. I sure bought some Everclear at home this weekend. Gave some to the wife, and she didn't handle it so well lol
I've heard of Everclear, but haven't tried it. Probably similar to moonshine, which I don't care for.
