yes they do accept the Drivers Daily Log program version it has the updated 2per page logs now for download...it will scan at the kiosk in terminals. i know from experiance i do have the DDL program on my laptop, wouldnt trade it for the world.
Nana, DDL was a life saver. Made it real easy to calulate 8/2 split sleeps (I hate use it, but it comes in handy sometimes). That and my handwriting is so bad.... I ran with a junk (read pentium 1) laptop and it easily handled that program and MS Streets and Trips at the same time. Pal
Great, I didnt know if was worth the $$$ think I will go ahead and get it. Seems to make life alot easier. Is DOT ok with it also?????
I have been using the 30 day trial of DDL and checked with home terminal for use. As long as you use the swift print module, version 7 or 8, and all required info is included on the printed log they have no problem with drivers using it. Word is they actually like it because of readability, less violations since the program alerts you to any violation. As per regulations you must have a printer to be able to print out the current 24 hour log for DOT enforcement if asked. You must print out each 24 hour period and manually sign as electronic signatures are not allowed. And you must have on hand the 7 previous days logs printed out and signed. After one week of using the program I decided once I have my own truck I will never go back to paper logs except as a backup if the computer takes a dump. The reports and extra info for tracking trips, manifests, miles, etc. I find valuable. -SgailDreugan
Okay, sooooooooo I'm computer challenged. How does this thingie work? I don't want to tell Grandad about it because he just loves any software, hardware......okay anything electronic he'll want it. Oh never mind LOL during the time I typed the post and then I walked off to tell a grandson to get his little DOT bar into bed.........Sgail explained it. LOL
well guys i got a message about if i had the "new qualcom", i said i don't know, the lady said its the one with electronic logs..............i asked her are we going to electronic logs. no answer....i really hope not.
Even if they go electronic logs, I'd still carry DDL for trip planning. I'd just buy the cheap (no printer) version and use it as a planning tool.
