I worked 4 three of those carriers and still at fedex , now conway and fedex both have great all around benefits. Now central transport benefits are shiddy ( cherokee insurance ) its the owner of central trans insurance company. I think r&l , old domion and ups benefits are good too but I don't know about them !! I'm just guessing on that . But definately fedex and conway has the best that I know about and even heard in the industry.

Estes pays .535 a mile. Many drivers get 3000 miles a week. Family benes are excellent. About $40 a week though. I think ups pays .71 a mile or $32 an hour. Upsf pays .5875 a mile. Benes are free. They get a pension and a 401k. Fed ex is around .55 a mile their benes are cheaper than estes. Stay clear of Holland as they are the lowest paid and their future is not looking good. Abf pays good but their future is probably on its downfall. All these companies have less than 3% turnover

When I worked 4 conway it got real slow I was only getting one day a week over there, and I worked for central trans . But I left there because the terminal mang and the dock supv were both ahole u choose which one is which . But with central I can truly tell u , It depends on what u want out of a company?? Central is jus a plain trucking co , u will get paid but no ot until after 55hrs a week. Plus the health ins sucked !!!!! I would call doctors offices etc to find out who accepts the ins and they would laugh and say who's cherokee ins ... now with conway and fedex u have good benefits a 401k plan , all types of diff investment oppt and a retirement with fedex and conway. Now conway will work u harder than fedex will if ur a new driver from my exp. There is a forum on conway vs fedex as well as conway and fedex forums one that I did called fedex freight. I wouldn't go with central their equipment sucks !!!! Anymore ? Not a problem.

A friend of mine got a job at old dominion making 21 an hr and .38 cent a mile off rip.sound real good to me.

Isn't Fed-Ex laying off very heavy right now due to the merging?

Yeah but the terminals that are being closed aren't hiring so if u see a terminal that is hiring apply for that position. They're merging because u would have a fedex freight and fedex national right across the street or a couple of miles away from each other. The ppl who are being laid off have an opp to work for another fedex that is not closing or choose a package that pays 20,000 and two weeks vac time so I heard .
