TIMMYTWO, if you have gotten an invitation to NLR, you would be foolish to pass it up. Trust me. The door to get into our company is VERY LONG for a good reason. You will see why once you go thru orientation.
You may have or may not have seen this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-BP1ISP-Ms I will tell you that I personally know one of the two guys in this video. His name is John Wright aka: "Sarge" (also Sarge26044 here on the TTR). He was my trainer and is the real deal. This video is a 100% accurate glimpse of what this company truly is. If you like the video and get a good vibe from it- let me reassure you that it is for real. My name is Jeff Updike, Maverick flatbedder for over two years. Truck #13261. Very happy here and I look nowhere else.
What did the recruiter say when you talked to him. When I talked to my recruiter Donnie Gandolph he told me I was applying for the Regional Flatbed run. I'm hoping to start orientation next weekend, but I won't find out until Monday. I know my area all the had was flatbed. If you don't mind me asking where are you at? You should be able to go on the website and look.
well i finally got cleared to join maverick gotta give my 2 weeks notice ,then to nlr i goany advice besides keep my mouth shut and listen
Don't be nervous Timmy. They're not gonna bring you to the Rock just to send you home. The orientation process is also a 2 week school. You will learn alot while at the Rock. And if you allow yourself, you can also have alot of fun. t
Once you make it past the first week of orientation you are golden. The only way you don't make it after that is if you do something dumb and mess it up. We had someone in our class show up like an hour late and got let go when we was in securement training.
I said TMC had better training, I never said they had better trucks, although they are upgrading their whole fleet right now.
It's going to depend on what divisions they are hiring for in your area. Check out the hiring maps on the Maverick website for info on that. I had several people in my orientation class who went through securement training, but ultimately wound up in TCD because they weren't confident in their abilities to do all of the flatbedding work. Yet, because they proved themselves as having the right attitude and desire to work during the training, and because Maverick was hiring in their areas, they were able to go TCD instead.
My application was approved by the hiring committee, how long does it usually take to get a trainer lined out(CDL grad)? Could this be a long process? If so I am going to TMC, I don't think there will be much difference in the two companies, NLR is just closer to home, but man does that black and chrome look good I wish Maverick or TMC would buy all International Lonestars, that would be sweet!
