Those pushing Power plant fueled vehicles as opposed to diesel fueled vehicles have no grasp of the reality of trucking and don’t understand that their power plant fueled vehicles cut seriously into an already slim profit margin industry and will not, especially without government subsidies, be able to economically supplant the current OTR/ Regional trucking model. Power plant fueled vehicles may have a place in certain niche markets but that’s about it. Serious, your plan is seriously flawed and naive. Seriously. Did you look into the tare weight issue with power plant fueled vehicles? The fact that most have a tare in excess of 45 to 50 k means an almost 33% REDUCTION in payload. That won’t fly with many shippers and receivers, seriously it won’t. I’ve been having trouble with my flying car so I have to run now!
Give it a couple years. When China starts smoking America with their smaller, lighter batteries that can charge faster and go longer. They're already working on lithiums replacement.
The charging infrastructure from the power generation plants to the charging stations will still be prohibitive.
