Way off of normal topics here and I'm not sure where to post it, but I am in search of a more affordable and reliable microwave. I'm starting the nutrisystem plan and a lot of the meals require a microwave.

I need opinions on the microwave as well as any converters and accessories I may need. Again as affordable as possible because I'm on a tight budget. Thanks all...

well a 700 watt microwave fits in most trucks $50-60 at walmart
you will need a 1500 watt inverter to run it with the heavy cable pkg which is extra at the TS
you can find the inverter for $100 on sale with another $30 for heavy cables

or you can buy a 12 volt microwave. for about as much money as a invertor and cheap microwave. I think it was 500 watts so cooking would take a little longer.

I'm thinking about buying one if I can find the spec on inside footage. don't nwant it if it won't hold a frozen jenos cardboard pizza.

I went with a 700 watt from Wally World.....I got by with a 1000 watt inverter, it was a package deal with the TK Apu..

It worked, but given the choice I'd go minimum 1500 watt inverter or bigger..

For hook-up wire I used 4 gauge fine strand in my trucks (fused of course), most good car stereo stores have it or buy it online..

I buy all my power wire for various projects from these people now..

We have the 700 watt microwave from Wal-Mart too. Been working fine for 2 years now. Only downside to it is that things take longer to heat.

I was wondering how much worse the 700 w would be at cooking than the bigger microwaves.
