I would like to know if I am floating gears the right way. I will explain how I am doing it...I throttle it up and when I want to shift I ease off the loud peddle at the same time I have slight pressure on the stick to move it out of gear and into the next. Most times it slides out of gear and into the next as smooth as a hot knife through butter. Just would like some opinions if i am doing it right...Downshifting is another story.
It will be as easy as breathing once you had enough practice. It's a timing thing shifting up seems easier because your working with a lower rpm. I normally start in second gear when on an incline or loaded. I give it just enough gas to get the truck moving then jump to 4th. mash the gas briefly. Let off then jump to 6th then 7th thru 10th. It's good practice float because you'll have less clutch problems. I had a clutch problem when I first started driving and haven't had one since.
