How do bunk 'coolers' work? easy, during the winter months, you just open your side compartments. takes no electricity. =)

Anything other than an APU could be a lot of things, Webasto heaters for example.

The reason you want an APU is because 1) most fleet trucks won't even idle nowdays, so when it's hot outside, it's unbearable inside your truck without an APU and 2) if they do idle, one of the biggest gimmicks in trucking is to tie your pay to bonuses, i.e., bonus for low idle/high fuel mileage.

A bunk cooler could anything from a small 12v fan to bag of ice in an open ice chest. In other words, it's generalized bs.

Pin them down to specifics, but like I said, no APU no workie. They will treat you like garbage.

In fact, think of no APU as another way of saying ##.
