Hello, I have just been accepted into Schneider National as an OTR driver and looking forward to joining the team. My orientation date starts Feb.4 in Charlotte,NC. Looking for some insight on what I may need to bring with me that IS NOT listed in the to bring email. Also looking to hear some stories about there experience at orientation.

Granted, this thread is based more towards the Bulk Division at Schneider, but it is from a Schneider trainer (currently), and has some valuable information within. I believe that the first post gives you an idea of what you need. Also, Schneider should send you and/or tell you a list of things to bring. You still have some time before you depart.

Maybe I wasn't clear enough in my thread. My question was, what else may I need to bring that might not be listed in the packing list for students. Thanks!

    Need? or want to bring.

SNI has you covered in that email. Can you carry , in one trip, the things in the email? Dont add to that. You will be getting in a trainers truck, maybe with another student. Just in case, you should keep that in mind.

Good luck. This is a three week long interview, conduct yourself accordingly. NO ALCOHOL AT ALL during orientation. THTA will get you sent home.

Packing list for students pretty much covers it. We all have added our .02 there and if we think of anything else we add it there. A 77 page thread is pretty conclusive

The less the better. It gets hard trying to keep up with all of your stuff.

If you think you will need, leave it at home if its not on the list, nothing worse than a student showing up at your trucks door looking like zsa zsa gabor packed up 3 or 4 steamer trucks pots pans , microwaves, cb radios , the wrong kind of gps, any how leave it if it is not absolutely essential.

And oh yea, listen to your trainer more than the guy in the classroom. it only about a month his truck, his way.

Not a drinker, but thanks for the advice about being a professional during training. First impression says a lot!

Sorry Richter, I haven't got that far into reading all the thousands of threads. Notice! My status. Keep it to the minimum, got it!
