What motor? I've had N14 in frame with Cummins kit and out of frame with Interstate. Same result. Good running motors.
I have used many Clevite kits with good results. PAI and Max Force look very good and have had good results from them. Started using Clevite kits because I found them in Cummins crankshaft bearing from the factory. Have found FM ( Federal Mogal ) stamped on crank bearings in Deere's. TRW is another one as is Badger pistons. I have bought a few things from Interstate and had no problems, Years ago there was a company out of Utah called New Source. I bought a fair amount of stuff from them. Received a set of Cummins liners that had been drop tested on the concrete. Fire ring was buggered up. Had to pay for the replacements up front. Pay for the freight to send them back. Seems like it got worse some how. I pay a little bit extra and buy my stuff local most of the time.
You get Mahle pistons in Detroit kits, with Clevite bearings. Detroit kits are cheap enough now to go with a factory kit. You will need to add lower end brg kit, valve cover and oil pan gaskets IIRC. PAI and Interstate McBee include pretty much everything
