Howdy all, New to the forum and have a few questions, I’m planning on going on my own within the next couple of months and I’m trying to get an idea on my numbers, so my question is what’s the rough average a week or month to run my own truck, like insurance, maintenance and other expenses?

Edit: I should of been more clear in my situation, I’m not otr or an operator, I just need shove in the right direction on getting started.

A lot of information is on this site if you use the search button. Insurance will depend on you. Call a company like progressive and see what it will cost you. No one can give you the correct info as everyone goes through different stuff. Everything is a variable so lay out what you are running and what you plan on doing so people can give you a better idea.

It's completely different for everyone. Insurance for example. Varies greatly. And it's large numbers. My 1st year I paid 12k for the year. But was quoted all the way up to 40k! And I had over 15 years experience with no violations.

Those are questions you should have answers to months in advance of you going on your own.
And months before that you should have saved enough money for those unexpected expenses.

Based on those questions, you are nowhere near ready to become a business owner.

I would suggest you get your numbers together to figure what it will cost you to operate and then look at your life and see what the least amount of money is that you will be able to survive on.

The House of Cards is crumbling as we speak.
