usually 68-70% weekly has been my experience the lighter the better but they usually frown on anything over 18,500lbs
65% to 70% of the total freight charge to move the load. Fsc is a % too , right now the top rate is about 30%. If your thinking about gas or oil , get off the milage gig. You don't want miles you want the short hauls. 3-5 loads a day maybe 200- 350 miles total. rates are down but everything is.......... And it's a lot of work, I'd suggest doing it as a company driver first. Learn and make mistakes on someone else's dime!
I talked to advantage tank line a few months ago. crude oil was $3 per mile to the truck with 50% deadhead. so thats like $1.50 per mile(on bs miless) to pull a tank. I told them its not enough$$$$$$. That really is crap for tanker pay and i wouldnt want to pull a box for that
