I noticed some companies want you to have a passport, I assume to go into Canada. I don't have the necessary documentation to get a passport. My stepfather adopted me and my last name changed when I was 11. In order to get a passport you need a birth certificate that shows both parents names. What I have is a certificate of vital register that has my name, date of birth, and location of birth. What a headache

Should be able to certificate if you have location of birth, it will be on record. Use that with name Chang docs. Same happened to me when I was 8.

first off, many companies that require you to get a pass port dont really require it. TMC requires all drivers to get it and only like 10% have it.

I cross into Canada and back into the U.S. without a passport, just my "green card". (Canadian citizen living in the U.S.)
