Most tanker companies want 2 years tanker experience. A new driver will have a difficult time getting in unless they work oilfield tankers and get the experience first

$600 per week otr. I won't do that either. I have been working allot of 7 day weeks lately because I want MONEY.... But I will gross $1255 on 7 days. They are 7.5-9 hour days depending on weather or if I get hung up waiting at a farm. On 6 days I will gross $1050. I made $58,500. I do farm pickup milk tanker class A. I see the problems that face truck drivers, but I'm not going back to milk plant work. I had enough of managers and corperate nonsense. You reach a point when you have had enough of it. I get in my truck, pickup my milk and go home. No one usually bothers me. They know I know my job and leave me alone. There are days I have to deal with bad weather and farms that aren't done milking on time, but there are days it's 65 degrees and I make great time. I take the good with the bad.

No matter what I end up doing in the future I'm not climbing into any truck for 600 bucks a week gross. Ain't happening.

My company, Britton transport out of Grand Forks, ND, will easily get you 3000 mile weeks. They will run you hard. Now, I will note that I am in the flatbed division so don't really know much about the van/reefer division but I have talked to the van/reefer drivers and they seem happy. Britton is a good, straight up decent company. They absolutely will get you home when you want so don't take what I am about to say wrong. Britton is set up for those that like to stay out and run hard. You will get the miles and pretty much be left alone to do your job. They do take new drivers but with your experience you may have to go out briefly with a trainer mostly so they can verify you know what you are doing. There also could be a waiting list for a trainer as Britton only has 3 or so trainers (115 or so total trucks). Best wishes to you!

Just a decent company doing Reefer Madness. Should be bringing home over $1k a week.

Schneider and Superior both take new CDL holders. I went to Superior. Schneider will make you start at the bottom of the pay scale and Superior pays everyone the same after initial company training.
