So recently purchased an 06 freightliner Columbia (used from private owner) and am getting to lease onto a company. I'm needing to know the length, weight, and declared value of the truck. Can't find the first 2 anywhere in the cab or owners manual. Everything I've found online says these are printed on stickers on the door sides. The stickers are completely worn white can't get any info from them. How can I get this info? Declared value im hoping someone can help with a website that i can figure this out without having to pay a fee.. i know these are probably "rookie" questions but I'm having trouble finding answers via Google. Tyvm for any help u can give
Tape measure, local quarry, n how much you paid for it/what it would sell for prolly get you all the answers you want
Concur with above. Tape measure and find a place with scales to get the weight. Its next to impossible for the manufacturer to list the weight of every truck since there are literally hundreds of different component combinations that will affect the weight.
wheelbase is like 215" long. weight is like 17,500 lbs. declared value is what you want. say $30k. insurance will only pay the value at the time of lost.
Does no good to go by door sticker or registration on weight. In most cases this is the manufacturers number is usually off by a 1000 lbs or more by the time you add gear and accessories. I would assume that a leasing company wants to know the tare weight of your truck so they can size loads appropriately. This means fill it up with fuel and head to the nearest scale to get a print out. Length they are looking for is wheel base most likely. Measure from the center of the front hub to the middle between the drivers. That is your length. Value is whatever you want it to be within reason. Unless it's an exceptional Columbia of that age, you are probably looking at $20K.
Just want say thank you all so much. I had thought yeah just take to a scale and measure from front to back but I wouldn't have known to go axle to axle or to fuel it up first. Also I know the truck is worth more than the 3k we paid just no real clue how much more. tyvm I'm still trying to learn all the little things that I didn't need in the company truck. You all are life savers
Used to be a cushioned pad mounted on the dash above the glove box. Pop it off and there should be a large sticker there with all the info. As for the value go on to truck paper and search for the same truck and mileage as your truck, and you will have an idea
