Does Qualcomm report a potential upcoming HOS violation as a "Critical Event".....or does it wait until the actual violation??

Actual. I run mine down to 15 minutes all the time and never heard a word. It's just letting you know u might want to find a spot soon.

Critical events are only for hard brakes, if your ABS kicks on, stability control kicks in, any auto brake system engages, accident, overspeed etc. (depends on company for how many of these are actually activated) Log violations are just that, log violations. They have nothing to do with the critical event reporting or logging.

At least thats how it works at my company

the red exclamation is the same icon as the critical event, but if its for logs its not a critical event.
