I am trying to get hired by Werner but I made a mistake when talking to a recruiter. When assked about the nature of a careless driving citation from five years ago, I made the mistake of being honest and admitting that careless driving was what I plead a dui down to. (mind you, I don't drink and drive any more. I screwed up when I was nineteen. who didn'g?)

My background check and mvr will show absolutely nothing that has to do with alcohol. I might as well have told the recruiter "yea, I had too many at the bar once, and then drove home, but there were no charges" absolutely no record of alcohol, me, and driving at the same time.

I was wondering if it would be worth it to call and try to talk to another recruiter from Werner about this. Maybe next time, just say I got caught squeeling tires and swerving a bit. Any help would be most appreciated.

You've probably saved yourself a lot of grief there. Take a look at the posts about Werner.

Yeah, talk to a different recruiter. At a different company.

    Good luck!

Is OTR your only option? Or can you get on with a local service, such as driving bus, or hauling gravel, trash, logs, or sundry other items. Maybe even a local common carrier company?

I've heard a lot of things about Swift... mostly not too great.
