Keep in mind, that between 50%-75% of new drivers never last a year !!
I forget the exact percentage, but it is very high. Keep that in mind as you borrow thousands of dollars ! Just a heads-up, it sounds pretty sad, but it IS true.
Don't just read all the good about trucking, because there is alot of bad also. If I was alot younger, the only recruiter I'd talk to would have a military uniform on..they aren't laying off, cutting pay and benefits,...something to think about !!!!

You nailed it. If I were to do it all over I'd sure be out there hitting the bricks. Anything different than the masses would help. If you go along with what the school and recruites say then you might just as well grab a number and sit down.

but does the pay make it worth it? I mean hell, I deal with ####heads everyday where I work and still don't make enough to pay my bills. If i can deal with ####heads driving truck and pay my bills, it seems worth it to me. I understand the time away, dealing with traffic, bad roads, driving alot with little sleep, etc.. but if you're getting paid well, it seems worth it to me. I think most new drivers have this "i can be my own boss and stop whenever i want and enjoy the sights" attitude, when in reality, we all (should) know it's not really that way.

I'm sure there is plenty of revenue generated from the sweat of our brow... But I see very little of that revenue. VERY LITTLE!

I wasn't trying to say that we will make $50k a year.. but right now i'm making $16k/year so to me it is good money. I know alot of people that drive and really enjoy it. That's all i was saying
