I read on Mavericks site they have a "family only" rider policy, but one of my teachers told me that they were changing it to allow others to ride for a fee. This was of course last night and before I ask maverick monday I wanted to know if someone had any insight on this

Haven't heard that, but who knows? They may, although I know that they seem to be very risk-adverse with their policy decisions. It would not surprise me if this ends up being false.

true, even if it is false thats fine with me. I only have a girlfriend. My grandfather would love to ride along but oh well. If being that way keeps their cost down and our pay up, Im fine with it

most companies say anyone over 10 years of age can ride. you have to pay so much a month for their insurance to cover them but its not bad. Just becareful if you bring your gf. If you and her get into a fight and break up in the truck well you see where this is going. Just becareful :)

This is unrelated but could anyone tell their opinion on smith transport and how they treat drivers?

"Girlfriend" is not family, so she cannot ride with you. "Grandfather", however, IS family, so he should be able to ride...

Maverick is not like most companies in this or many regards. The rider policy is Immediate family only. Spouse, Parents, and children 13 yrs of age or over. PERIOD.

w4cdw, when you find out the exact answer from recruiting, post it on here will you? I've read repeatedly that the rider policy is immediate family only, but I have also heard rumors about them changing it soon, and I've talked to a couple drivers who said they had their girlfriends riding with them for a week or two before. I'd love to know the for-sure answer myself.
