Hey guys I must say I've handled the snow good so far but last night trying to park I ran over a concrete block that was covered by the snow took a piece of my bumper off I reported it what should I expect now
you had a preventable accident. what your company does as a result varies WIDELY depending on the company. with some companies, you may be disciplined or fired (unlikely after one incident, but not unheard of). with others, nothing, unless you demonstrate a pattern. depends also on the dollar value of damages. its done, and its reported. dont sweat it. theres nothing you can do at this point to change the inevitable outcome. (you didnt mention the company you work for...that might help generate a more accurate response) most likely you will hear nothing.i had 2 backing accidents in my first 9 months, both minor in truck stops involving another truck. worried a LOT about my future with the company, as time progressed worried less and less. learn from your mistakes. try not to repeat them. get out and look more...it never hurts and often avoids a stupid mistake. (ive been accident free since those two incidents. i get out and look 59 times if thats what i feel i need to do)
Yes, you will now have a preventable accident on your record. You want to try to avoid any more of these.
It was just a concrete block buried in the snow. Let not over think this whole thing. They may not even worry about it. Shiat happens. They should know that.
I agree. But I understand how the OP feels, as I am traditionally an "overthinker". With all the talk of CSA, DOT, LMNOP, and every other letter combination we have to be concerned about nowadays, it's sometimes hard not to panic.
