Will be running from Gillette WY to Idaho Falls next Monday. What is the best route? GPS gives me several ways but would like to hear from someone who’s done it. Thanks

What does your Motor Carriers Atlas say?

What is the weather situation, specifically wind warnings and icing between the two places?

What does the internet's WYDOT and IDDOT have to say about closures?

Still at home so I haven’t looked at my atlas yet. Weather during the day is above freezing in both locations. Haven’t checked dates websites yet for closures. Just wondering if there’s a decent shorter way or just run 90 to 15 and down.

    90 and 15 down.

I think the next route south across Jackson is a pass not worth dealing with and mileage and time of travel is not much different.

In terms of doing battle with mountains 90 and 15 is not that bad.

    tscottme and piston865 Thank this.

That looks like the easiest and I’m guessing quickest. Thanks for your replies.

Not necessarily the quickest. You are never in a hurry out west. You will get there when you get there. The key is to keep moving at a steady speed limit.
