I am looking for some advice for some drivers with more experience then me, I am going from Atlanta, GA to Lawrence, MA. Swift routing wants me to go up 81, which seems like a longer way around. my plan is to go right up 95. I will be hitting all the cities during the weekend. I pick up tomorrow but will only have 4 hours left on my 70, but get back 11 and 13 sat and sunday. So the question is is there a reason it wants me to avoid 95?

    Thanks,

    Mark

The three ways you could go are.....

85-77-81-84-90-495.....very little tolls and 1155 miles
85-95 a ton of tolls and a helluva lot more brain damage with 1095 miles
81-78-95 some tolls, a lot less brain damage and 1120 miles.

Me personally, I would go with the 81-78-95 route.

It's a matter of tolls. Plus you don't want none of DC during rush hour.

    Take I-85, I-77, I-81, I-78, I-95, I-91 to Hartford grab the hwy 6 shortcut over to I-84, I-90, I-290, I-495.

That's your best mix if they let you go that way.

one cool thing you could do if you have a laptop and that is put in those to cities, destinations on google. Starting place and ending place, then search maps, it will give you a couple of options for routes and the miles that they are.

plus one thing your gonna notice is, the gps in the quallcom sometimes routes you differently than what your fuel routing is. just fyi

Thanks for all the info, mentor told me not to eveb worry about the fuel route if you go a diffrent way. Just have to send a message to open fuel when needed. They only say something if you go way out of the way by several hundred miles. I used google maps and it did give me three options. So I think ill avoid 95.

    Thanks!

This ... and the first warm spring weekend ... you don't want anything to do with the 95 from NY to south of DC
