Yeah-- I called em today-they had a job posted in Greensboro, NC that job isn't open says corporate---so I callled the terminal, They said they are closing that terminal down and they to were looking for work-------thats bad
pay depends on the account, im paid an hourly wage, which is a good thing. on a busy week ill turn 500 miles on the odomoter..
So, impression I am getting here is that they are fairly good to work for, right? Am currently in So. Calif driving for local sand/gravel/cement powder company. Work is slow. Even if it was busy want to get out of Calif. Have relatives in northern Iowa (Coulter). Want to move there. I checked Ruan website over the weekend and I see they have four locations relatively close to Couler (Mason City being the closest). Of course cannot apply now as cannot move until house lease expires in August. Actually, seems that might not be able to move for about another year. Main concern about moving is finding a company to drive for. Since RUAN has several sites around Coulter, this might no longer be a problem. Don't really want to go OTR, have 15 months driving time in with company with now; since they require only one year experience, they might be the way to go? dave
cdlkid, you asked about what we make per week. I am paid by the mile and drop here in Florida but I am moving to Oregon next month where I will be hourly. I always shoot for $1000.00 per week and usually make that and a little more. With the economy the way it is things have slowed this year as compared to previous years but I'm still making close to what we made before. I am hauling animal feed and feel that being in agriculture of some kind is going to be a little more stable than many other hauls.
etch-a-sketch says it is a mickey mouse company. Can he say why he says that? Specific examples of what the company has done, without the driver doing something/messing up first, on their own to make him/her think that. Otherwise would make me think that this is just a "sour grapes" comment, that he/she did something wrong first and the company let him/her know about it. Not trying to be argumentative or anything like that, but specifics helps to bolster ones comments. dave
I wouldn't concern yourself with him/her. The answer that is given on all other posts by him/her are the same short sentences. No facts at all.
