My pete with a paccar seems to be constantly running at 200 or just below. On hills it may go up but the fan goes on and it comes right back down. Is this something I should be concerned about. No warning lights go on.
Judging by the title, I was way off,,but as long as it cools down, heck, we'd run our Big Cams or Macks up to well over 200. HOWEVER,,,it is cooler out now, it may be of concern once temps outside get to be 100. Plugged radiator with bugs is often the culprit, power washes can rip the fins off, so an air or garden hose with low pressure, might be helpful. I'd keep an eye on it.
bring it to a shop, get them to clean out the debris between the each unit ACA, Condenser and Radiator, it is time for a good cleaning.
When I’m climbing a mountain I turn the fan on manually when it starts getting up around 190+ This Cummins and the Paccar I had always ran normally at 181-183. I’d take @Ridgeline ’s advice and get everything cleaned up. Seems like an inexpensive place to start. Summer is right around the corner and if it’s running at 200 now your auto fan is going to be working overtime.
Check for debris in between rad and intercooler as well seen trucks get a piece of plastic or bag up in there before
