RV hauling

Can anyone tell me if A person with a one truck,dually with a payment would be able to make a living if I lease a it to a company.I am not afraid of hard work,I have just heard a lot of different ideas about this kind of business.

 

Bought 2 trucks that way.

 

I have a friend in Indiana that said he used to make good money doing it. Don't really have any info other than that.

 

thanks for the reply Roadmedic. I have read some of your posts and they are a postive sign That I mite be able to make it. I was thinking about leaseing on and be both a tow away contractor and a drive away one two,that way my options would be open,to find more work.

Two thoughts... One, this industry took a beating by the recent economic turmoil but seems to be on the rebound so probably has a lot of potential. Two, just thinking that it would be a good idea to tread carefully if your idea is to lease a truck to pursue this venture because a lease for 'personal use' that then is being used commercially could cause a lot of trouble and the high mileage that a towaway venture will incur will be pretty telling that the vehicle wasn't only being used personally when it comes time to turn in or buy out the lease.

Yes I bought a 2013 chevy.I realize I will put a lot of miles on it. I figure about 90,to a 100 a year.As long as I keep up on maintenance and repairers I should be able to get 5 years out of it before I have to replace it.I just want to make a reasonable good living out of it.

 

I have an 05 chevy crew w/ short box. Any rv companies to stay away from or run to, Roadmedic?
